AASCF States - wrap up

28 Aug 2017 by Bronwyn Morgan

Hi Heat Cheerleading families

Another successful weekend for Heat Cheerleading at the AASCF State Championships. Sydney put on some wonderful weather for us for most of the weekend, even if we did miss the snow in Canberra on Sunday!

Congratulations to coach Tan! What fantastic results for his two teams – both Heat Scorch and Heat Vengeance placed first in their categories and took home the ACT Grand Champion prize. A true testimony to the time and energy Tan puts into his teams!

Even more exciting is the PINNACLE BID offered to Heat Scorch! This is a first for Heat Cheerleading and I am super proud of Tan and the team. I think there are some parents hurriedly changing travel plans for Nationals today!

Our overall results were:
Heat Retribution – 2nd place and qualified for Nationals
Heat Princesses – 3rd place
Heat Scorch – 1st Place, ACT Grand Champion (Level 1) and Pinnacle Bid winner
Heat Vengeance – 1st Place, ACT Grand Champion (Level 3)
Heat Inferno – 1st place
Heat Wildfire – 2nd place
Heat Fever – 2nd place
HeatStroke – 3rd place
Heat Embers – 3rd place
Heat Radiance – 3rd place
Heat Wave – 4th place
Heat Ignite – 5th place

Thank you again to parents for taking the trip to Sydney. I know a lot of fun was had, and friendships made over the weekend, by all.

Don’t forget we have Tyree Payne coming to Canberra this week to train with our cheer teams and to run tumble and stunt clinics on the weekend. We are really privileged to have Tyree work with us, he is an amazing cheer coach and his schedule is very busy.

If you haven’t booked into a tumble or stunt workshop, please do so today! We need strong attendance at the workshops to keep bringing Tyree back to Canberra.

See you all soon!

Cheers
Bronwyn
