About Us

Heat Cheerleading is based on the north side of Canberra at 7/6 Dacre Street Mitchell and caters for all aspiring and seasoned cheerleaders looking for a fun and friendly environment to enjoy the sport of cheer.
Heat Cheerleading was established in 2011 by Kate Whackett, a primary school teacher at a local Canberra school, with a passion for helping children to stay healthy, fit and active.
After being introduced to Cheerleading by a student in 2008, Kate made cheerleading available to more children by starting up Heat Cheerleading and introducing an affordable and accessible cheerleading program.
In 2014, Heat Cheerleading changed ownership and Bronwyn Morgan took over the reins. Bronwyn was introduced to all-star cheerleading back in the 1980’s where she was a cheerleader for a couple of American football teams in Sydney.
Her enthusiasm for cheerleading was re-ignited in 2012 when her daughter joined Heat Cheerleading. In 2013 Bronwyn started coaching at Heat Cheerleading and taking over ownership seemed a natural extension of Bronwyn’s passion and enthusiasm for cheerleading!
In 2016, Heat Cheerleading will continue to expand – introducing local and interstate competitive teams and contemporary dance classes.
